ARTwork: Does it match my decor?

A little lighter tone today. I admire people when people can match and plan their decors according to a color scheme. The rooms look so amazing, and dare I say pinterest worthy. I think it's the planning I admire....something I've never been able to master, especially with decorating.

I tend to fly by the seat of my pants and just pull together an eclectic mass of things I like. And hope they go together. I think some rooms of mine are more successful than others.

But I had a strange color matching phenomenon occur by chance. I made this little painting....

Definitely a nod to the powerful feminine.

Definitely a nod to the powerful feminine.

The colors are soft, and the feel is without time. The left side hints at eternity.....the two spirals dance around each other to create an infinity sign (standing up).

I NEVER NEVER paint with such soft colors. There's a little bit of boldness to the blue, but I feel this work is very uncharacteristic. I am more "I am woman, here me roar" with lots of bold colors than someone who just assumes a quietly assured feminine presence.

But something seems to be pulling me towards this "quietly assured feminine presence." I recently bought a wall hanging and I think you'll agree, it matches the painting perfectly!

This is my music room....the painting and wall hanging brighten it up quite a bit. I did the painting way before I bought the wall hanging.

So it makes me laugh because I am not someone who creates art to match my furnishings. But it just worked out that way this time.

If I make this a bigger picture not just about me, I'd say that we're drawn to certain colors and what they represent at different stages in our life. So by embracing our color of the month/year/decade, we're honoring our own growth and developing. And when we decorate our homes this way, we fill ourselves with the joy of synchronizing our inner and outer worlds.
